Gorgeous 6 month old Charlotte came in for her first professional photography session with her parents recently. Charlotte gooed and gahhed her way through the session with smiles and adorable expressions. With such big blue eyes its no wonder Dad, Tim, is so besotted by his little princess. Kara (Mum) and Tim had a wonderful selection of portraits to choose from and found it so hard to resist most of the final images that they decided on a Portfolio Box to enable them to have a full range. Grandma came along to the viewing session and decided on a beautiful canvas photograph of Charlotte. We can’t wait to present the final images to the Coote family.

The Shah Family

The Shah family came in recently for their first family portrait having seen us during our display at Carine Glades. With the two boys growing up fast Divya (Mum) wanted to make sure she had images to remember her boys before they head off to explore the world. Despite being teenagers (and teenage boys at that!) they were happy to comply with Mum’s wishes and posed for a series of family and individual portraits. The resulting photographs will now be proudly hung in the Shah household. Divya also ensured she had some smaller images to take home to her in Kenya where she was going to visit for a family wedding. We hope you have a wonderful trip Divya and enjoy showing your family how big your two boys have become.

Julian Family

It is a photograph like this of Griff, Noah and Heidi showing what happy families are all about that make being a portrait photographer so rewarding. OK…so sometimes brothers and sisters don’t always see eye to eye and there is the usual harsh words said over who gets the last piece of chocolate cake or whose feet touched on the others ‘side’ of the backseat…but at the end of the day it is smiling, happy families where you know you CAN rely on each other that make it all worth while. The Julian family were an absolute delight to have in the studio and each of the children brought their own unique personality to the shoot. Enjoy!!

The philosophy of Bliss Studio is simple – to create beautiful, natural family portraits. We want our photographs to really reflect who you are as a family so a lot of our photographs, especially with children and babies is your interaction with them, or them having fun. However, it is sometimes makes for great children photographs or baby photos when you add in a few simple props. It might be a chair or a firemans hat or a favourite cuddly toy. To this end I have recently gone on a shopping mission and come across some fabulous new items that are going to be gorgeous when we start using them in our family portraits. I have a range of wonderful hand knitted hats for newborn photographs, some cute pink and white chairs for the toddlers and some gorgeous oversized cane ‘bowls’ for the babies who are old enough to sit up but not move. I can’t wait to see what they look like in the end result and look forward to the next round of families coming into the studio to experiment with them. As a family photographer one of the challenges is to stay fresh and come up with unique ideas suited to each individual family. The addition of a new chair or hat can open up a whole world of possibilities and keeps us always looking forward to the next portrait session.

Birthday Photos For All Ages

On the weekend I had a great time at a friends 50th birthday party with a 60′s theme (peace man). It got me thinking how important it is to remember these milestones in some other way than simply having a party. We are so lucky in Perth to have a fantastic lifestyle where there are so many opportunities open to us. I suggested to my friend that she should come in for a studio portrait showing what she looks like now. The idea was initially met with some resistance but the more it was discussed the realisation of how important it would be to leave behind a snapshot of who she is right now. A studio session doesn’t have to involve glamour or make-overs. It doesn’t even have to involve the studio!! Perth offers such a great range of locations for a photography session including beaches, wooded areas and parks. Bliss Studio can take photographs in places that mean something special to you. Maybe its running through waves at the beach, or throwing a ball for your pet. Remember treasured memories aren’t just about young children and babies. Professional photography is great no matter what your age. People photography is what we do at Bliss Studio and people come in all shapes, ages and combinations.

Little Alana was not too sure about having her baby photos taken, but at least she looked right at the camera for me most of the time! After a while, she warmed up and her mum and dad were able to coax a few little smiles from her.

Lucy and her two little brothers came in for thier family portraits as a present for their Dad in Mid February. Lucy was lucky as she got to wag school the last part of the day! Lucy was a fantastic big sister showing maturity beyond her years, and I expect she gets a lot of practice chasing after the super energetic Matthew and Lachlan. I hope that you liked your present Dad the kids sure put a lot of love and effort into making it for you!

Kaila’s Leavers Portraits (Photograph Perth)

Kaila is a recent graduate from Woodvale Senior High School and very much an accomplished sportswoman. She played basketball at both school, local league and state level so we couldn’t resist adding in a few balls into her photo shoot. If we photographed Kaila doing all the sports she participates in I think we would still be going. We would love to catch some of her boogie boarding action as well. With the sports uniform away Kaila transformed into the gorgeous young woman you see below. Her broad smile and easy going nature made our job photographing this leaver very easy. We managed to fit in about 5 outfit changes and each one made Kaila look fantastic. Kaila is off to study Occupational Therapy this year and we wish her every success.

Teagan’s Leavers Portraits

Teagan has just completed Year Twelve and has taken the opportunity to come in for some stunning photographs to remember this important milestone. Teagan has such a warm, friendly smile and captivating eyes that is was easy to create some beautiful images for her. We asked Teagan to bring in something that showed what she was all about right now, something she has a passion for…bellydancing was quickly given as the answer and so we had lots of fun photographing her in her favourite outfit. We all got a quick lesson in hip movements and hand positioning which made for a riotously funny shoot. Teagan is going to be studying nursing this year and from our time spent with her can tell she will make a fantastic, understanding nurse. We wish you all the very best.
